Hello, reader! I'm in School!!!

I'm kind of sick right now, do I have your pity? No? alright....

I know I haven't written in a very long time, but I have a very sissy excuse; I was doing homework! Not buying it? Well, it's actually true. 7th grade, I knew would be harder than 6th grade (no, duh!) but I feel like we already have too much homework on our fourth week of school! So, we might be diving into the sea of homework at a good time, but I wanted it to be slowly forced on us. Oh well, school is school, and complaints will never end.

School is good. Good is nice. Pie is nice, and I'm kind of craving it now. With its nice layered, crust, filled with some type of fruit filling with it's nice, warm, moist touch on your tongue. Ahh... oh right, SCCCCHHHHOOOOLLL. Meh, it's alright, teachers are nice, subjects are nice, friends are great, school lunches, FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC!!!

In movies (and possibly real life) this is what school lunches are:

Not bad, but it's what a six year old can stir up in the kitchen. Edible, sure, with nice flavors, it's stuff you can't complain about 'cuz you at least have food in your tummy.

In my school, this is what it is to me :

A really big selection; salads, sandwiches, burgers, shawarmas, zingers, juice/ fresh orange juice, and 'hot lunch' which I think of as meal of the day.
Maybe I'm expanding it with the picture, but it's really good to me. With pretty good prices too!

I love my school, and I secretely like homework. Not a lot of homework, but when I get a good grade on homework I feel good about being independent. I hope to tweak the blog a bit tomorrow and write a bit more.

Good night.

Spark of Insanity?

So, how is it? Is it easier to read than Zona World Mind?

Before: Oh!!! The neon and colors and the scrolling of what not, dawdle-doddle, I'm burning!!!!
Now: Oh, easy to read and I can see a beautiful spark (firework)! My life is complete, thank you Zona!!! [Your welcome worthless reader!]

No, I'm kidding, you guys should have a pedestal for reading this blog! Not higher than mine of course! ;D
So is it really easier to read? What should I focus on when I write? I'm thinking of making it pretty broad with the subject of : wait for it............ MY THOUGHTS!!! More specifically to do with the culture of Amman and how it effects the boredom of myself. And of course random things in my life! Yay!!!

Yesterday when I ended with Spark of Insanity, I thought that really explains me. Yes, a tween girl with a spark of insanity every now and then, so that's why it's the title... yep, I'm pretty predictable...

Today I'll be busy for a few hours, but don't worry I'll be back on the Internet to write and post pictures like there's no tomorrow! (maybe, sometimes I feel like just writing bullet points... so I'll let you know.)

Till then, hats off to you for clicking the blog to read.

Ughh, empty mind

Sorry guys, but this is what summer does to me. It makes me procrastinate... I'm not proud but it just does. Especially with my blog. Tomorrow I will write about everything that has happened to me this month. (Oh my goodness, it's been almost a month since I last blogged!) I'm so sorry, reader.

BTW, I'm thinking of giving a new look to Zona's World Mind! The blog separated from the title so instead of making a new blog I'll just drastically change it! :)  Maybe it'll give me a new look of the world of blogging... [stare into the distance, while background fades with heroic music]  :P

My school is starting soon!!!! Woohoo!!! I love my school, the kids and teachers are great! Except for the occasional annoying bastard that keeping entering your private bubble. But a school isn't a school without them. But I still can't wait until school starts! My insides might explode from the pressure of my smile with the pillow I'm driving into my face while holding my breath. Psschh, I'm normal... maybe.  o___o    and you will never know, mwahahahahaaaaa!!!! Okay, that's the spark of insanity for the night, and there goes my dignity.
But I still love school. Even homework! Gasp? I know, but learning is so fun! ['snort' push glasses up] (btw, I don't have glasses)

Geneva, the awesome.

This was my first time traveling alone so I was really anxious. Really excited, and really nervous about going to a giant, metal thing with wings, but first entering the maze of an airport. It was easy because I had an escort, yes an escort, but only going to Geneva! When I arrived, I was blown away by the amount of trees, and GRASS, and pets, and security.

Reasons why Geneva is awesome:
  1. Plastic bags aren't provided in grocery stores anymore
  2. If there are any stray animals, citizens must call a number, a specific one!
  3. Street con artists are always stood up by any random person who will call the police. (I was there)
  4. You can cross the border to France easily.
  5. It's so green here, with so many parks and gardens.
  6. People are really friendly.
  7. Food is awesome!!!
Yeah, those are some reasons why Geneva is awesome, as well as Switzerland. I really wish Jordan would try to be Eco-friendly, but it's the people here that might mess it up if it was.
In Geneva I went scootering with Madina... ALONE!!!! I might seem crazy but you can go around, walking alone! In Jordan, you can if you dare, but there's no where to go. I went to the lake with Nour... A FREAKIN' LAKE!!!! In Amman a puddle is the closest thing to a lake. I went scootering, exploring, swimming, eating, and shopping. (I know, shopping?, but I didn't say only for clothes.) I laughed and smiled a lot, not just because I was in Geneva, but because I was having fun with friends in Geneva.

Okay, now I have a game for you guys...

How many frogs are in this picture?

Aanswer at the Bottom

So it's kinda like a game, but it's pretty easy. This was in the Botanical Garden. Frogs and dragonflies, oh yeah! So if your family doesn't know where to go for a relaxing vacation, try Geneva, in winter or summer. (It's not a Hawaii, or Jamaica, it's better in my opinion.)

Geneva!!!!!! :)

I'm back to humid, boiling hot, deserted Jordan from glorious, green Geneva! I've got mixed feelings right now, like anyone who would leave their favorite country/ home. I love being back home though I hate how Jordan is so hot, and I hate how I'm away from my two friends in Geneva, but I love the memories. Soo, here are the pics!

View from airplane window:

Stalking birds, cuz I am a STALKER!  ;)

Things you won't see in Jordan

FOOD!!!!

Now this is only a pic post, tomorrow I'll write a lot about it, keep you posted!

Until then  ;)

*God willing

Summer :P

I don't really like summer, everything about it is... there's no word for it, but I just don't like it. I guess the only thing I like about it, is no school, but even with that, I can't see my awesome friends.

Things I don't like about summer:
  1. Hot, whether humid or dry
  2. Must wear short/ light things to avoid being suffocated in the bright sun
  3. Seeing the sun the whole day, making my vision cut by the brim of my Jamaica cap
  4. Not seeing friends
  5. Water parks/ hotels are always crowded
  6. No friends
  7. No sleepovers
  8. No summer memories with classmate friends  (Though I'm going to see great friends soon)

Things I like about summer:
  1. Being able to eat ice-cream without getting a lecture from someone saying it's too cold
  2. Having an excuse for swimming daily
  3. Seeing friends overseas
  4. No homework!!!  :)

I'm a winter person, so two more lists to go!

Things I love about winter:
  1. Being able to bundle myself in layers of clothing and not be self conscience
  2. Feeling all cozy when reading a book
  3. Snow!!!
  4. Hot Chocolate!!!  <3
  5. Christmas!!!
  6. Singing in the rain/ snow!
  7. Bigger chances of delay of school buses if snow or ice is blocking roads
Things I don't really like about winter:
  1. No ice-cream!  :'(
  2. Inside pools
  3. Being sick

I love winter, mostly, because I love hearing rain. It feels so calming to me and if I see snow I get all excited, but when I'm bored I can feel cozy in my bed reading a book to sleep with a mug of hot chocolate. It's my kind of season...  :)

My Day ZONA MIND

Normal day :
  1. Wake up
  2. Feed dog
  3. Feed myself
  4. Change into summer :P clothes
  5. Read
  6. Computer for about 15 minutes
  7. Play with dog
  8. Paint
This continues as a cycle for my regular summer day. But today was different. I talked to my BFF, who's so far from me, it's unbearable. We talked, laughed, stuck our tongues out and acted even more random. I can't stop smiling from the clear memory of today. Nope, smile is still there!

An Attempt at Murder

My cat tried to kill something!!! It's shocking to see my innocent cat trying to kill a bird! A bird! It usually pounces on half dead insects, but this was an alive bird!

It was Saturday and I went outside to play with Ginger, my moody cat. It was behind its bed outside but stood with a curved back. I approached it but saw a bird still breathing and at her feet. As I came closer, Ginger put the bird in her mouth trying to escape. Reflexes took over, and before I knew it, I had a broom in my hand. I started to pat her head, as annoyance to try to get her to drop her catch. It didn't work so smoothly, but at one point she did let go, and as soon as that happened I cornered Ginger with the broom I looked at the unharmed bird.

It was brought inside to a box with buckwheat and pieces of bread with a little saucer of water. After about half an hour of the bird in the box it started hopping around so I tried putting it outside for it to spread its wings, but it was too late, since the bird tried flying around in the kitchen, but failed and landed behind the fridge. The fridge was moved and my mom brought it outside. By the time I came out, the bird already flew away.

When I looked down Ginger was glaring at me. I'm not exaggerating when I say 'It looked like it was going to devour me'.   Ginger has been avoiding me lately, but it all right cuz she might be getting into mischief.

Eclipse/ My Pets

Been a while since I blogged. My apologies. This is the post that will cover all the things I've been meaning to post.

We had a lunar eclipse!!!!!!! It was AMAZING!!!!! No, BREATH-TAKING!!!!! I was with friends, outside, with an open fire, having of course S'mores. We were outside for about half an hour and then we roamed around in the darkness with horrendous images in our heads when we would turn a corner. When we realized that the moon didn't have its full roundness we knew the eclipse started. (Hannah told us that a fifth grade friend informed her on the moon's plan tonight.) We were on mats, listening to the crackle of the fire and at times we would raise our poking-fire sticks in unison while watching the moon. It was a fun night.

It was that night when I knew I was an outside person. When everyone would sit down, I'd be the one spinning/ running around being slap-happy.

I have 3 pets! A land tortoise, for those who get confused, a stray kitten/ cat I adopted when it was a wee little ball of orange and white fur, and my dog that I adopted about 3 weeks ago.
My tortoise, Checkers, was the cutest thing in the world for me when I got it in 3rd grade. A desert tortoise was the closest thing to a dog for me so I would scratch its chin and pet its head, and sometimes let it do its favorite thing, watch TV. Remind you of someone? I would put it in front of the TV and he would stick his head out and watch only Hannah Montana. My cat, Ginger, is an orange and white alley cat that I took in, when it was bullied by an older stray cat in our garden. Of course, I fed it and played with it, and soon after long weeks of chasing the older cat away, Ginger was at peace and my mom and sister accepted it into the family afterwards. I got Igloo from the Humane Center. It's a white, Glen of Imaal Terrier. When it first came into the house, it would start whining if I left it's sight. It's better now. It can fetch, if in the mood, and sit, if it sees a treat. It's a sweet dog, and it's about 1 and a half years old so it's still adorable!

Checkers, showing the world what he's made of.

Ginger, acting innocent so she can jump on me without suspicion.

Igloo, in my room acting cute to get a treat.

Until next time,

Fartz ZONA MIND

Hi everyone, I thought of this, umm, natural subject from Nigahiga! Yaay, round of applause please... so back to this, why do people think of this as gross? We all fart when we sleep which shows we can't/ shouldn't control it, so why be embarrassed? The only exception is

You're walking down a school hallway in your favorite outfit, having a positive muju around your day. It gets better when your crush is talking to you, asking questions about you, making you feel happy, basically. He's cracking jokes now, with his amazing smile, and you need to cut cheese. You're desperate, the hallway is pretty empty so blaming it on someone else isn't optional. You look for your classroom which is at the end of the hall, so you can't make a run for it. You're backed up, you have to let it out. Pffttt, a soft one, but loud enough to hear. You look at him. Silence strucks.....  It's too quiet..... Your face feels red...... Time feels paused. He looks at you, then sees his friends, looks again at you and starts to laugh with his friends and imitate your gust of wind. You go to class looking forward to replace that jerk with another cutie.

That's when you can be embarrassed...

Education! :3 ZONA MIND

Ok, I have mixed feelings about education. I sometimes love school, and sometimes I wish it were bubble wrap so I could pop all of its flaws.
Flaws like:
  • Creepy substitutes
  • Boring lessons
  • The annoying class clown
  • The plain weird class clown
  • The wanna-be class clown
  • The groups/ cliques
  • The drama between BFF's
  • The uniforms (if you have 'em)
  • The outfits/ fashion statements (if you're unlucky to not have uniforms)
  • The early rising for school
If I was writing this on a weekend I would probably come up with more devastating turnouts, but that's all for now.

I guess school is okay, but after-school activities are fun. Well, if you pick what hobbies you love, education will be fun! I don't know about you, but I do lots of activities and I hope I can get into the boarding school of my dreams. Ahhh, I want that scholarship!!!  >:)  Anyway, I hope people enjoy their education, and grip onto it, and just learn for yourself and not anyone else.

That's all for the Zona Mind.

Hello!!! :-) ZONA MIND intro

Hello everyone!!!! I have an update on what's going on, in the Zona Mind.

I'll be starting to write more frequently and have the title include "Zona Mind", and it'll be, obviously, what's on my mind. When I post something I feel like people will expect a more deep post, to have emotion being sucked out of this black and white print. These types of posts will be quite random, but fun to read, and not really long. I will try to make this blog more fun to follow, so I'll start with this.

:) Enjoy! :)

Having AWESOME Friends!!!!! BIG Friends Post

I have AMAZING friends!!! Ones that I can really trust. Guys and girls, I don't think it really matters once friendship grows from the ground to a lilly.

Things that are important:
  1.  TRUST!!! You have to trust each other to know that the truth doesn't become lie when you talk to them.
  2. Honesty. It kind of goes into trust. To trust a friend on your life shouldn't be hard.
  3. Kindness. You need to be kind to someone to gain their trust.
  4. Just Plain FUN!!!! It's hard to be with someone who's not fun and random.

My friends:   I have friends from the sarcastic and random to the innocent and gentle. Friends aren't collectible items, where you have one tomboy, one girly-girl, one nerd and so on. The reason I bring this up is, because I read my magazine and BAM!!! there's an article that is titled "Friends... Collect them All" or something like that... I had nightmares after that. If I actually thought about that article, I might be the nerd with pig-tails...
Also, once you've made real friends and they leave there's no way they're leaving your heart. If you could dig up those dusty memories, you could almost feel the laughs bubbling up inside of you. A love- filled shout-out to Mira, tears and laughs to you! An ENORMOUS shout-out to Madi and Nour!!!! I love you guys!

Until the next post,
Zona/ Z-dog

Sleepovers

I had a sleepover! Well, actually I slept-over at Hannah's house and we weren't like this
 or like this

It was in between and great! We played Monopoly, Mario Kart, Black Jack and quizzes on her iPad. It was really fun. One point at night we called our friend, and asked him embarrassing quizzes on love, which would determine if he was romantic, attracted to boys, etc. It was hilarious!

I'm not a really sleep-over-ish person, because you end up talking a lot.
  1. Not the gossiping type of talking but the 'Oh, I didn't know that' type of stuff which gradually makes you collect hatred towards someone.
  2. About boys (no one can help it).
  3. Rumors that go around in school
  4. About parties and things you weren't invited to
Sleepovers are always better with at least 3 people 'cuz then every time an awkward silence pops in a conversation, some one will cut the silence.

Younger Siblings

This post is only about my intake of being an older sister.

You:  Leave my room, now! I'm doing my homework (on Facebook or YouTube)
Sib:  Noooo! I don't want to!  or   I won't disturb you!!! Please (puppy face)  ='(

You can either remember your version of this happening to you or laugh at how you don't have these problems. I have these problems, and I'm ok with it. Not that I enjoy shouting, but that every pair of siblings go through this. It's about as natural as urinating. <-- my similes SUCK

Older siblings:   You can be the control freak or be the kindest sibling in your house.
Young ones:   You can be the hurricanes of trouble or be the googa talking, walking monster of adorable-ness.

Normal Relationship :
  or an unrealistic one:

Just kidding guys, but seriously no control freaks   xD

Weather in Jordan

Sorry, I couldn't write this post yesterday because the Wifi Internet was shaky.

Yesterday's weather was odd. I wore a shirt and Capri's jeans like any other spring day in Amman, but once I went to my piano/voice class it started to heavily rain. So Mom and I ran to our awesome car. I was hungry so we went through the drive through and the sun came out again. Then I immediately went to my ballet class, and when I came out it became dark, though it was afternoon, but I looked at the sky and rain clouds came out.
Mom and I came home and it started to HAIL!!! Freakin' hail!!!! Like seriously, in Spring?

In my past years in Jordan, the seasons came like this:
  1. Summer: Hot, but not so much as humid hot. Light rain, once a month if lucky
  2. Fall/Autumn: In between warm and cold, rains a lot in October and later
  3. Winter: Really cold, only in Second Gr. did I experience the closest thing too snow, here.
  4. Spring: In between semi- cold and relatively warm. Rains a bit in February-March.

PS: I think the sun loves tormenting us. It's like "Am I confusing your outfit plans? Am I confusing you to the core?"

The Early Mornin' Before School

School has broke a system in me, to be an early bird. It is an neutral feeling, you wake up, have breakfast when you want to cuz you have lots of time, finish homework calmly if you forgot, and be chill when the bus comes. On the weekend, I wake up usually at 5:00, have a small breakfast and play games on my iPod, then the rest of the family wakes up and they have pancakes, eggs, waffles leaving me in exile as my stomach has been filled.
I am writing this post, because my bus comes in more than 30 minutes.

Amman, Jordan Pt. 2

A pretty long post

So I live in Amman and it's dirty, I'll admit, but not horribly polluted. They're small piles of garbage, rather than scattered, like, everywhere and in most of the empty lots across rows of houses, there's a big garbage can. Some say "People who take the trash out throw it everywhere except the garbage can" and it may seem like that but in Jordan there's quite strong wind and I think because the garbage truck comes about every two days, that the full garbage can has some junk knocked off.

A few things I don't like about Amman:
  1. When a garbage truck comes a day or two later than usual a pissed person fires the garbage up rather than wait and put up with the smell, and space taken up.
  2. The traffic... once it's jammed, it's damn jammed.
  3. How I never know if the stores in Amman are any where else in the world.
Amman is beautiful, and pretty peaceful. I think people get pissed at first, but I've been here for 5 years so I really love Amman. <3

Amman, Jordan part 1

Another short post

A lot of kids that are foreign don't really favor Jordan, but I'm more of a go-with-the-flow kind of girl. Amman is actually pretty nice. Center Amman is dirty but not so much polluted, while the outskirts or edges of Amman are as green as boogers  :) jkjkjkjk, green as grass  <- this simile sucked. I wish some of the people I know see the beauty of Amman rather than the flaws... :(

Bed time

It's just a small post

Do you guys still have strict bed times? I don't, since my mom knows if I'm not tired I physically can't sleep, just as long as my eyes are closed before 10:30... xD

Let me know if you still have bed times in the comments below!

Teachers... :P

Sorry I haven't been blogging in a while, but I've been pretty busy... I had my birthday on the 9th and I was down in Aqaba, and school happened. :)

Teachers. TEACHERS :)  teachers :(   No matter how you say it, their goal is to TEACH you, not be your friend as some of the naive think.

You can have a teacher like this and be happy:

Or have a nightmare like this
or like this, who will break all the dignity you have after your failing class

I hate the stereotype ' all old teachers are mean or grumpy' because I happen to know a very sweet, delicate teacher who is now a sub. because she reached the age of retirement. I also know a teacher, a young one that I thought was so cruel, but now she's one of my fav. teachers. The note above about teachers teaching and not being your friend was sorta true. Teachers go through years of learning the kid's mind and how to work around the classroom, so would you think the teachers first thought was to be your best friend?
Uh-uh....no, no
Teachers are nice and can be your friend-ish person, but not your best friend. Seriously, imagine a 42 year old man mimicking a monkey while being on the playground... eeughhhhhh... scary thought. AAAhhhh!!! Imagine him/her with you!!!

Just a thought that can linger through your dreams...

Mwa-hahahaaaaaa!!!!!!!! (Because the songs are just plain WEIRD!!!!)  Seriously, the lyrics to the song are so weird! And don't get me started on the grammar. Coincidental, I'm writing this on Friday, hmmmm.....

Mira

Mira is leaving today! I can't face the fact, it's so weird! Yesterday I went to Mira's grandma's house with Ziggy. It was very fun, and if you go to Mira's blog, you'll see our weird pictures. When Ziggy left Mira and I got kicked of her uncle's computer and dragged ourselves to her small, temporary bedroom. We went down Memory Lane and played on MyScene, Bratz and Barbie websites. We looked like such idiots, but we were happy at with the moment.
Burger King arrived and when we were done with our Whopper we started burping/belching. I can burp on command so I was showing Mira, and then she was trying to burp on her own, and I'll just say she looked like Melman on Madagascar, when he swallowed the party buzzer thing. It was quite funny.
When my mom picked me up, I was in tears. I'm not afraid to admit that. I was trying to make Mira cry so I gave her my puppy eyes. Her lips would quiver a bit, then she would turn away and say ' You suck!'. xD
We did this 3 times and then my mom dragged me out of their front yard.

Mira, I'm gonna miss you like hell. :'(

Working Moms

I have a working Mom. You (the person reading) probably have one too. It's nice, having a more rich conversation with her, about the idiots in the office to the promotions and all that. I guess it's great. Especially when they get all mad at dead-lines to meet. They get all red and angry and even when you say OK, I understand, they'll continue giving more details, just like movies.
My dad works over seas. My mom works here. I feel fine and so does my sister, but I do feel a bit sorry for my mom. Can you imagine working for like10 (or more) hours and barely having time to just relax? It's kinda scary. Especially when you have more than one kid. Because you might not know it, but you could be spending more time with one child than the other, and then you'll feel guilty.

And on that note, I'm happy to be a kid. And only a kid.

Life Update

You must be wondering why my blog is titled "Citizen of the World". It's because it's not easy for me to answer the question "where I'm from" with just one single word. It's weird. The reality is that my parents work for the UN, so I move around a lot but not this time. It will be my fifth year in Jordan! So it should be considered home but for me it doesn't seem like it...

I was born in Tajikistan but my parents got divorced when I was a mere slip of a girl. So while she was a working Mom, she got married to the dad I have now. Basil, yes like the Great Mouse Detective! From Tajikistan I moved to Geneva, Switzerland then to Pristina, Kosovo then to Greece, then Khartoum, Sudan and then I went back to Tajikistan for 6 months and moved here! As a kid, I was't bad with languages, but the more we moved around the world the sooner I would forget the language of the previous country.

Memory: For International Day, my third grade teacher asked where I was from. I said,"I was born in Tajikistan, but I'm American who never lived there; our house is in Greece and currently we live in Jordan as both my parents work for the UN."
When my mom asked me if it was necessary to give such a long expanation, my response was simple: That was the reality, I hate this question as I never know what to say!

Note: My mom is still used to moving so each year in Jordan I have been moving houses!!!  How odd is that? If not a country, a house...

A Blog!!!

Wow! A blog!!! My blog! I've always wanted a blog but never really had the courage, but with Hannah and Mira's blog I guess it seems more realistic.

On this blog I'm gonna write about being a soon-to-be 12 year old living in Jordan with the problems that flow with it. I hope to write everyday and I will try.
